SENSUALISE is a name that’s soaring through the ranks of Australia’s thriving dance music scene. Having his own productions supported by major international artists including W&W, Ben Nicky, MaRLo, Judge Jules, Mark Sixma and Paul Webster it’s not surprising that his career as an international DJ is taking off!

In 2014, Sensualise received his first signing to the world’s largest trance & progressive label Armada, for his track ‘Helix Nebula’ that was featured on MaRLo’s compilation album ‘Visions’. Sensualise also entered and won the remix competition for ‘The Witch’ by John Askew. The remix was released mid 2014 on Discover Dark.

Sensualise’s production work complements his DJing well, with his sets often featuring many of his own edits, mashups, remixes or original tracks, giving his sets his own distinct sound. Not only that, but his track selection, ability to read the crowd and creative mixing has resulted in him quickly gaining a strong following both in Melbourne and across the globe.

Sensualise has worked his way through the ranks onto some of the biggest dance party lineups in Australia. It was recently announced that he will play on the legendary Godskitchen tour which is certain to be one of the biggest events to hit Australia’s shores this year.

In 2014, Sensualise played for the second year in a row at Australia’s largest annual dance music festival Stereosonic, this time on the “Full On Ferry” stage hosted by trance pioneer Ferry Corsten. Other big brands that he has played for include Ministry of Sound’s: Trance Nation, Pure Trance and the Mysterious World festival in Malaysia.

As well as the big shows, Sensualise plays regularly in Melbourne and holds residency at Sanctuary Saturdays, the current weekly home of trance in Melbourne. Due to his consistency behind the decks, he is often trusted with playing peak time supporting sets for international super stars including: Jordan Suckley, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Myon & Shane54, Christopher Lawrence, Kyau & Albert, Super8 & Tab, Ben Nicky, The Thrillseekers, ReOrder, Darren Porter, Manuel Le Saux, Arty, Mat Zo, Khomha, Daniel Kandi, Beat Service, Estiva, Will Holland, Lange, Protoculture, Sneijder, Max Graham, Allen & Envy, Dash Berlin, David Gravell, Tenishia, Andy Duguid, Aly & Fila, Fisherman & Hawkins, Eddie Bitar, Mark Sherry, RAM, Gareth Emery, Coming Soon and Chris Schweizer to name a few.

From tearing up dance floors under the Mediterranean sun of the White Isle, to filling out stadiums in South Africa, partying it up in the Nordic seas on a huge ocean liner, to nostalgic nights at some of the UK’s most prestigious clubs; Miss Lashes has seen more of the party than most!

When not headlining at one of Europe’s top festivals such as Global Gathering, Creamfields and Dance Valley; or playing to her adoring fans at some of the UK’s biggest domestic nights such as Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Inside Out and Planet Love ; Lisa’s musical adventure regularly sees her packing her suitcase and touring her style to another corner of the globe.

Huge popularity of the sell-out Lashed in Ibiza parties, led to instant worldwide demand for Lisa and her Lashed brand with marathonesque tours of the parties to China, Canada, United States of America, Netherlands, Russia, Australia, New Zealand and Japan ensuing!

It wasn’t long before Lisa was officially recognised amongst the top ten DJs in the world and achieved the illustrious title of ‘The World’s Number One Female DJ’.

This title has seen endorsements by many of the world’s leading brand’s including Bench, UDG, Sennheiser, Loopmaster’s and Vestax as well as keeping in touch with the younger generations as ambassador fordance4life as well as other charity work for Pink Ribbon & Oxfam.

Away from the sparkling career behind the decks, Lisa has also enjoyed huge successes with her Euphoria albums. With sales well over 250,000 they were quickly established as the biggest selling hard dance compilations in the world.

Since the golden days of Euphoria, Lisa has diversified her sound by slowing the BPMs and incorporating uplifting and tech trance into her sets, which now sees her playing as a global headliner on the international trance scene alongside such stars as Sander van Doorn, Ferry Corsten & Marco V.

This more mature and diverse trance sound is represented by her hugely successful ‘Lashed Podcast’ and whilst still only in infancy, has already picked up over 60,000 subscribers! This sound has been incorporated into the relaunch of her Lashed events in 2010 with concise music progressing and a much more diverse line up of guests – ranging from Irish superstar John O Callaghan to Germany’s Scot Project and Dutch producer Sied Van Riel to Radio One’s Kutski!

Never one to sit back, Lisa has been hard at work in the studio pushing her new tech trance sound through with several releases already in the pipeline for 2010 on labels such as Musical Madness & Discover Dark, as well as her own record label – Lashed Music; which continues to go from strength to strength. Current and forthcoming collaborations and remixes of Lisa’s tracks include Sied van Riel, Ummet Ozcan, Artento Divini, Jordan Suckley & Gary Maguire.

Lisa’s music has picked up plays from a huge range of DJs around the world: a regular on Radio One via Judge Jules & Kutski and featured on Gareth Emery’s Podcast, along with many tracks that were quickly snapped up to albums worldwide; including Ministry of Sound, Godskitchen, Tunnel & D-Trance.

Let the party continue…

Over the past two years Scott Attrill has quite simply taken Dance Music by storm! Two acclaimed artist albums in two years, ‘Bass Junkie’ and ‘Mega’ have helped establish him as one of the worlds finest DJ’s with ‘Mega’ being hailed as the “Best harder dance album of the year” 2009 by scene bible Mixmag. His tracks are also played on an almost weekly basis by scene leader ‘Kutski’ on BBC Radio 1 with his smash remix of Sidney Samson’s ‘Shut up & Let It go’ aired on the stations peak daytime shows.

He also mixed this years ‘Soundtrack of the summer’ that was ‘Riot! In Ibiza 2010’, another album that also scooped the ‘Album of the month’ accolade from Mixmag. Scott’s following is growing at pace, consistently touring the world’s biggest clubs and playing huge festival events and this looks to continue, as Scott recently became the first DJ in the world to have tracks featured to play on the hit computer game ‘Rock Band’.

The forthcoming artist album concept of ‘Noize’ showcases his brand new ‘Hard Electrik’ sound that he has pioneered over the past year or so, a fusion of electro, techno, trance & hard dance that is literally so fresh, it is no surprise Scott Attrill is receiving so much praise & attention…

Bring on the Noize!!!!!

In the past 12 months alone, MaRLo has had a #1 beatport hit with “The Island”, remixed Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten (for the second time), been a regular on the top end of the beatport charts, mixed the Ministry of Sound Trance Nation Australia compilation for the second year in a row, tours around Australia weekly, AND launched a radio show. Add some major gigs around the world to that already impressive list, including Asia’s largest EDM festival “Massive 2011″, and it is clear that there really is no stopping the busy Dutch born, Aussie resident as he makes his way to becoming one of the top players in the game!

The MaRLo sound is a signature blend of hands in the air moments with tech infused beats, encompassing influences of Trance, Techno, Tech-House and a mish mash of various other chunky sounds. MaRLo is not one to be pigeon holed, and his DJ sets can only be described as the “MaRLo sound”. MaRLo’s studio trickery has seen him sign productions to trance super-labels such as Armada, Spinnin Records, Blackhole recordings, Flashover and many more.

MaRLo’s productions are always diverse, with no track sounding like the last, MaRLo has been able to gain a large and loyal fan base who are always ready to be surprised by his latest release. This diversity was recognised by world famous “Cirque du Soleil” when they asked him to produce and perform his own interpretation of their music at the massive Uitmarkt festival in Amsterdam. MaRLo’s productions receive highly coveted respect and recognition, featuring on popular TV shows, reaching high rotation on FM radio stations and scoring Tune of the Month in “Mixmag”, “DJ Mag” and “Tillate” for his track “MaRLo feat Kristen Marlo – Is it Real”.

MaRLo’s latest single “The Island” was an instant hit and shot up to the #1 spot on the Beatport trance charts. The track received support from all the usual heavyweights and also featured an official video clip. Dj Mag have said it has a “crisp, bold production” and that Jano’s “duskily appealing vocals” are “simple yet magnificent”

His remix of Ferry Corsten- Brainbox is a dance floor destroyer and was played by Ferry Corsten in every set for over a year. It was such a big hit that Ferry personally asked MaRLo to remix one of his biggest tunes to date “Punk” which peaked at #3 on the beatport charts. MaRLo tracks frequent the Beatport top 10 and are played by Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Markus Schulz, Sander van Doorn, Ferry Corsten and many more. Four of MaRLo’s productions were played across the ASOT 500 parties around the globe.

As a DJ, MaRLo’s sets echo the diversity of his releases and are heavily filled with his own productions. In 2011 he was voted Australia’s #2 Trance DJ and #4 across all genres in the Inthemix top 50 DJ poll (#1 Overall DJ in his home state of Victoria/Melbourne), in 2010 MaRLo was also asked to mix the Ministry of Sound Trance Nation vol 2 CD, which included a 14 date tour of sold out events. It was such a success that Ministry of Sound asked MaRLo back in 2011 to mix Trance Nation vol 3 which also included a solid tour.

MaRLo was tipped by Trance International as a hot lister and one to watch for 2011. He has played to thousands of people across the world at events such as Sensation, Trance Energy (Holland and Australia), Uitmarkt Festival (Amsterdam), Massive 2011 (Malaysia), Stereosonic (Full Tour), Creamfields, Gatecrasher, Slinky, Godskitchen and many more. Some of the countries that have experienced MaRLo are: The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and of course Australia.

Not your typical trance producer, MaRLo brings something fresh to the world of electronic music. With his achievements to date, a solid list of upcoming releases, collaborations, international gigs, it looks like there are no signs of things slowing down for the energetic MaRLo.

Nick Collings spoke to MaRLo ahead of his return to Auckland to play at Stereodays this Queens Birthday weekend.

Dave Owens’ DJ career took off by the turn of the millennium and over the last few years he has graced the decks at clubbing institutions such as Insomniacz, Housework, Insekt, Byte, Ultim-8, Incisions, Hard Up North, Out of Order, Toast, Housewives Choice, Forbidden and he also held a residency at PureFilth in Manchester.

Dave’s productions are very much at the hard end of the dance spectrum with releases on some of the scene’s toughest Hard House & NRG labels.
After being inspired by some truly remarkable DJ’s April started her own DJ career in NZ in 2004. Two years later she moved to London to mix up a storm right in the heart of it and she hasn’t looked back! This Kiwi hard dance diva has rocked it for Tidy, Frantic, Storm, Twist, Extreme Euphoria, Fevah, and Slinky. She’s also been booked for Polysexual, Glowball, Requiem, Tasty, and in Oct 2009 she played her debut set in the filth foyer at the legendary Hard House Academy, DJing alongside all the big players! Appearing regularly on Frantic line-ups in London she has also played for the legendary brand in Ibiza.

She’s had releases on Impact Recordings, Riot, Toolbox, Traffic Records, Addiction Digital, eXtra, Spin Hard, Rise-Up Digital, Ballistik, Electrik Shandy, Stereodays, Killertrax, and her own label Pink Records.
